As part of its business development, Cognizant is looking for a “Translator-Reviser in Technical/IT domain”, for a permanent position in Gdansk. You will be coached and trained by the Translation Department Head based in France, as well as by the team members based in Paris and India (4 sites).
In 2010, Cognizant France opened its Center of Excellence dedicated to the translation of French/English and English/French documents, to support the business teams in France in their business with their customers. The team currently gathers 10 translators distributed across France and India. In 2016, our translation team translated approximately 1.5 million word.
Roles and responsibilities:
You will be responsible for the translation and revision of IT documents, for our Banking and Financial Services / Insurance / Life Sciences and Pharma industry customers (and other technical domains). During projects, you will ensure compliance with the EN15038 international standard - focusing on quality assurance for translation services. You will be trained on Déjà Vu WorkGroup CAT tool and will use it for all activities, from translation to project management.
In this context, your responsibilities will include:
1/ English to French Translation:
- Translating technical and marketing documents in Cognizant’s different areas of business.
- EN>FR volume: approximately 25% of the total translated volume
- Expected productivity rate: min. 2,500 words/day
- Translating technical documents from French to English, if needed, in support to offshore teams.
- FR>EN volume: approximately 75% of the total translated volume
- Revising (and performing further quality control reviews as part of EN15038 certification) documents translated internally or by FCOE’s outsourcer.
- Expected productivity rate: 8,000 revised words /day
- Strictly applying terminology glossaries specific to each domain
- Supervising the creation of bilingual glossaries
- Managing and updating translation memories in Déjà Vu
- Escalating to higher management or to the requester any delay, issue or potential problem impacting delivery of projects
- Compiling metrics in Excel for data analysis if required
- Qualified Translator/Reviser, with minimum 3 years of experience in translation and/or revision of technical or financial documents, and ideally with experience in project management
- Fields of application: IT (mandatory) and Banking and Financial Services; any other domain expertise is a plus.
- Knowledge of CAT tools, preferably Déjà Vu.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel is a plus.
- Must be a graduate from a specialized Translation school/institute or University
