Mechanical Design Engineer

Johnson Matthey Battery Systemsis Europe’s leading independent designer and manufacturer of lithium-ion battery systems. We deliver high volumes of batteries for e-bikes, power tools and e-mobility.
Key responsibilities:
- Mechanical design (3D modelling) of battery systems including plastic molded components, stamped parts and assemblies
- Support test and development activities (including the creation of DFMEA, DVP & R, specifications) and supervision during product validation testing
- Ensure overall adherence to the product development process and full compliance with the quality system and customer’s requirements
- Close cooperation with PMs, operations, manufacturing and production engineers to ensure products are designed for manufacture
Are you the ideal candidate?
Essential Skills:
- 3+ years of experience in mechanical design of plastic components and product design and development
- Proficient in 3D CAD modeling – Knowledge of Creo 2.0 would be an asset
- Familiarity with technical documentation (GD&T, DFMA, DVP&R)
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or a related field)
- Good knowledge of English language (B1)
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in plastic molding process and mold design for injection molding
- Knowledge of rapid prototyping tools and best practices
- Knowledge of Windchill 10.1
- Knowledge of SAP
- FMEA experience
