Project Buyer

Main tasks:
- directly manage all required sourcing of turn-key-equipment/tooling, services and components for machines as delegated by the Global Commodity Manager Capital, Equipment / Regional Commodity Manager Capital Equipment FTDS Europe,
- conduct negotiations with suppliers in order to ensure that equipment is available in line with project timing, within the project budget and targeted payment-phasing,
- in cooperation with the Global Commodity Manager Capital Equipment and the Engineering-Group, prepare and continuously update an approved supplier list,
- renegotiate with suppliers in cases of warranty or equipment failures and ensure that all warranty-obligations will be completely satisfied by the suppliers,
- liaise globally with the Global Commodity Manager Capital Equipment and the Engineering-Group to define a common regional/global sourcing strategy,
- ensure through involvement in equipment-acceptance-process, that all in the contracts, agreed scope of supply and warranted characteristics are delivered/fullfilled by the suppliers.
Requirements:
- the incumbent should have preferably an University degree in Engineering or Business Administration with min. 3 years practical experience in purchasing within Automotive and/or Machine Building-Industry,
- a good knowledge about European contract law, self-confidence, good presentation and good negotiation skills are necessary,
- ability to interact in international teams is fundamental.
