The Swedwood Group is the industrial group of IKEA and was founded in 1991. Swedwood’s primary task is to ensure
production capacity for IKEA. This is accomplished by establishing and operating sawmills, component and furniture
production units strategically located relative markets and/or raw materials supply. Swedwood has more than 40 production
units and offices mainly in East Europe and has 15 000 employees. Swedwood is divided in four Business
Sectors and the Business Sector Board on Frame has two units in Poland, Zbąszynek and Lubawa. These units belong
to Business Area Poland employing in total 4500 people. Now we are looking for a
Lean Production Specialist
- to Business Area Poland
The business sector Board on Frame specializes in manufacturing light weight furniture such as tables, cupboards, shelves, beds
and chest of drawers. The construction technique, in which furniture components are partly filled with honeycomb paper, makes it
possible to produce low cost products with a reduced consumption of raw materials. The latter is important to Swedwood and IKEA in its
overall environmental focus and sustainable management of resources. Our factories are located in Poland, Portugal and USA.
The main responsibility of this position is to ensure the Lean Production principles will be followed and developed within the Business
Area production plants. You will suggest improvements and changes in our working methods and take the full responsibility for the
implementation in our production plants.
Your role is also to coordinate and conduct trainings and other support activities connected to Lean production management.
You will report to the Business Area manager and belong to the Business Area management team but will work in close connection to
Lean production specialists from other Business Areas and our main office in Sweden. The position enables plenty of opportunities
to influence the direction of the Business Area’s production plans.
The position will be based in one of our production plants in Poland but includes traveling to our different units.
You have a master of Engineering or other equivalent technical education and have deep knowledge and experience, at least five years,
of LEAN-production, Six Sigma or other modern production systems and improvement models. Your practical background is either specialist
within LEAN-production and/or several years of experience from being a production manager or production specialist/technician in international
You are a proven change driver and are goal oriented, creative and take a lot of new initiatives. Further, we want you to
