Our client is one of the world’s largest manufacturer of various chemicals and special ingredients for the food and supplement and pharmaceuticals.

Currently we are looking for an experienced and talented person for Technical Director position, responsible for providing a complete R & D and technical service to Polymer business, assisting QC Manager for all quality issues associated with European polyol production, approving all new products and/or new production sites in Europe, supporting European sales force (including distributors, with all technical aspects of the Polyols products, ensuring the successful transfer of technology globally.

Technical Director will be responsible also for all technical trials in Europe, regular reviewing with VP- R&D Polymers and VP- European Polymers to prioritize European R&D projects and initiate these projects in Europe, ensuring all new products are introduced into the European market on plan and supports the introduction technically, approving all European toll manufacturing facilities, providing a timely and accurate response to all technical enquiries from customer and distributors and cooperating with the Commercial Director and Business Manager for technical direction and visiting customers and carries out pilot and industrial trials at customers as required, supporting sales force (including distributors) at customer visits, ensuring the Sales force is trained in all technical aspects of polyols, cooperating with laboratory regarding specific needs of the customers, reporting market trends on all technical aspects of the business (assistant in the development of the marketing strategy, working closely with Commercial Director and Business Manager to identify new opportunities for business growth), initiating product development projects for requirements of European customers (monitoring progress of new products. Furthermore person employed for this position will be responsible for observation all Health & Safety procedures in the company and during visits to customer sites, ensuring all activities, operations and assets comply with Corporate requirements and country legislative requirements and moreover driving a strong health and safety culture within the European laboratory and within the Tech Service team for when they are out visiting customer plants.

The ideal candidate should have higher education (Chemistry of equivalent), experience within a commercial environment (ideally +8 years) and/or in chemicals industry (specifically Polyurethanes and knowledge of the markets- ideally +10 years), product and process knowledge along with technical service experience are preferred, excellent people management and interpersonal skills (ideally +5 years), good communication skills and able to work under pressure and be success orientated. Fluent in English is required, French and German would be a plus. Knowledge of CASE application would be a plus.
