The Director of Legal Services or Geographic Operations Counsel Manager, Poland (“Country Legal Lead”) provides general legal support to one or more countries, and is part of the Compliance, Operations, Regulatory and Ethics Legal team that focuses on Accenture’s operations continuity and local compliance. The Country Legal Lead is responsible for the quality and delivery of all legal support to Accenture’s Country Companies, joint ventures, and all other affiliates of the country he/she is in charge of. The Country Legal Lead is critical for ensuring that compliance policies are understood and embraced by everyone on the Country Team. The Country Legal Lead is a member of the Accenture Geographic Legal leadership.
- Organize, anticipate and maintain local compliance through regular support and monitoring of Accenture’s general legal needs, with the objective of avoiding the disruption or discontinuity of Accenture local operations for non compliance reasons:
- act as a single point of contact for that country;
- ensure compliance of local operations with local laws, within the framework of Accenture’s global compliance program;
- implement regular support and monitoring of Accenture’s general local legal needs;

provide general Legal coverage in each of the country: local Labor and Employment, Entity Matters, Data Privacy support and General Legal support as needed with coordination and escalating to Subject matter experts of CORE and makes sure:
- country’s general legal risks are properly identified, managed and monitored;
- adequate, relevant and proportionate action plans are designed and implemented as needed;
- close relationships are developed by the country legal director or liaison with local leadership.
- Organize and direct Legal team efforts, including Entity Matters and Labor & Employment support as needed, in line with Accenture geographic development strategy.
- Provide Geo and local needs of other corporate functions, in particular Human Resources and Tax.
- Collaborate effectively with other corporate functions in support of the Geography.
- Support the Global Compliance strategy and the related Global Compliance programs implementation, in particular, working with the Global Compliance team, the Global Geographic Compliance Coordinator as a key component of our geographic compliance effort in the Country.
- As per the applicable Compliance Responsibility Matrix that describes the responsibilities of the Compliance stakeholders of the Legal group,
- help determine the local dimension and local feasibility of Accenture compliance programs;
- contribute to local policy design and implementation, training, monitoring and auditing;
- advocate Compliance programs at the local level with the Country leadership;
- work with the Country Team to support Internal Audit team as needed.
- Foster effective integration and teaming relationships with the other Compliance, Operations, Regulatory and Ethics Legal Services teams.
- Collaborate with the Offering Legal architects to help localize Offerings as well as with all teams in Contracting Services and Contract Management.
- Support Litigation & Disputes, Corporate Investigations and the Internal Audit team, as needed.
- Provide coordinated legal education and training to the practice, to the other Compliance, Operations, Regulatory and Ethics Legal Services teams, and to the Contracting Services legal professionals.
- Help review settlements of disputes per Policy 83 as needed and requested by Litigation team.
- Serve as an escalation point for the Geo Compliance, Operations, Regulatory and Ethics legal issues; confer with/facilitate escalation to the Compliance, Operations, Regulatory and Ethics Global Lead.
- Assist with preparation of Regional approval underlying documentation for certain policies (gifts and entertainments, third parties).
Education: JD or equivalent law degree required.
Work Experience: 7+ years of experience as an attorney, at least 2 of which involved experience in a corporate legal department or law firm.
Knowledge and Skills REQUIREMENTS:
- Deep knowledge of, or ability to understand, the relevant laws and also the work culture in the relevant countries (including those pertaining to compliance).
- Ability to work with and manage activity remotely.
- Proven track record of managing successfully teams of professionals and external law firms, able to work with a global team of legal professionals with diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrates excellent judgment, ability to prioritize and make decisions.
- Strong executive presence and the ability to work effectively with the most senior business leaders at Accenture, managing partners from law firms, and the chief legal officers of Accenture’s clients.
- Fluent in English; fluency in other languages also is a plus.
