EDI Integration Specialist acts as a liaison between the business units within EMEA and Information Technology Department. By understanding the relationship between business processes and how systems interact to support the business, aligns Information Technology solutions with business initiatives.
In this position, you will have an opportunity to develop through interaction with multiple internal departments (Customer Service, Supply Chain, support teams) and external customers of International Paper. Promotion of e-business solutions within the EMEA organization will be part of the job. Additionally, you will have an opportunity to lead various system-to-system integration projects.
- Understand the nature of business process changes and composing functional and technical specifications outlining the necessary modifications to e-business applications.
- Take an active role in project/enhancement work, assists and in some cases leads the commissioned project team to devise project plans and define communication strategy of project
- Answer EMEA partners’ needs for quality information to run the business by completing projects and smaller initiatives.
- Provide consultative support by developing innovative solutions that effectively drive new opportunities to deliver value to the customers, business, and potentially our suppliers.
- Build EDI mapping specification for developers team and acts as a subject matter expert for co-workers in this area
- Use available tools to monitor, troubleshoot and repair technical problems
- Promote awareness of e-business solutions among business users. Builds confidence in IT e- solutions.
- Maintain business acumen by understanding the relationship between business processes and how e-business systems interact to improve them.
- Maintain working relationships with internal customers
- University degree in Information Technology or Business would be an asset
- Familiarity with EDI messaging industry standards (EDIFACT, xCBL) and transmission methods (AS2, https, sftp, X400)
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate and collaborate with all levels of our organization and external parties (customers, suppliers, partners)
- Knowledge of supporting business technologies such as EDI, XML, web services, business process mapping, data modeling would be an asset
- Excellent command of English; French will be an asset
- Ability to negotiate between business and information technology and work under time pressure
- Experience in order management, invoicing and supply-chain related processes
- Experience in ERP systems
- Good team working skills
- Effective written and verbal communications
