We are looking for a person for a position of File Transfer Engineer, to provide system management and support for file transfers within UK and Europe, and who will able to investigate and resolve routine incidents / issues affecting applications and hardware using experience and following documentation, carrying out routine maintenance tasks, use software and tools to collect system performance stats and undertake basic analysis of these. You will also perform file transfer capacity planning, performance, tuning and monitoring of file transfer management tools, support on Unix, Linux and Windows environments plus manage and support the following protocols: Connect Direct, Connect Direct Secure plus, sftp, ftp, ftps, MQ, MQFTE, SP4, http and https.
You will also be part of the team where people development is one of the focus areas and where your ability to learn new things is more than appreciated.
- Good, proven knowledge of supporting multiple protocol types, on different platforms.
- Good experience of supporting systems relevant to the position.
- Able to demonstrate diverse IT experience.
- Able to investigate and determine root cause of issues.
- 3+ years in a similar technical role.
- IBM Webshere MQ, MQFTE and AMS installation and configuration.
- IBM Webshere Connect Direct and secure plus installation and configuration.
- Relevant degree, foundation degree or BTEC HNC/HND (computer science/studies, information technology,
software development, software engineering, business information systems). - ITIL v3 Intermediate Level or equivalent.
- IBM Webshere MQFTE / MQ V7 System Administration or equivalent.
- IBM Connect Direct / Connect Direct Sec+ or equivalent.
