New technologies implementation and operational support to run Collaboration services 24x7 for EMEA region. Knowledge take over from engineers supporting the environment globally. Support of changes over the weekends or change windows outside business hours. On-call duty with rotation within the Team of 5 resources.
Key Responsibilities
Core Tasks
- Provide tier 2/3 support for Lync escalations
- Evolve and deployment of monitoring and instrumentation tools for Lync
- Capacity and performance management
- Review CDR and QoE reports to manage service quality and end user experience
- Manage health of Lync eco system (network, SQL and desktop client)
- Manage integration of Lync with Exchange (Unified Messaging)
- Manage Lync integration with Video Conferencing platform (Cisco)
- Training and packaging of support functions and tasks for level 0 and level 1 teams
- Troubleshoot end to end infrastructure including compliance stack (Actiance)
- Support DR coverage and tests execution for managed platform
- Ensure solution meets operation specifications

Essentials Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience of deploying and operating enterprise scale Lync platforms
- Knowledge and experience of integration with voice systems - e.g. Avaya ACME packets
- Knowledge of Lync and voice / call routing
- Experience in configuring conferencing and voice policies
- Experience in configuration of voice routing, dial plans and SIP trunks
- Demonstrate experience with Exchange Unified Messaging
- Experience of Lync monitoring tools and Synthetic Transactions
- Experience in troubleshooting complex Lync environments
- IT Operations experience (Change Management, Problem and Incident Management)
- Managed and operated Highly Available Lync solutions
- Deep understanding of underlying Lync components such as: Routing Groups, Windows Fabric, SQL mirroring, Pool Pairing and Backup Service

The RTC Collaboration Systems Engineer will assume responsibility as a Unified Communications deployment and operations specialist. The candidate will be working as part of a small team supporting Lync users in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region (EMEA) which will roll up into a global Collaboration services team. Out of hours on call support duties are also required for this role.
Good communication skills are essential as the role requires regular interaction with Product Management, Engineering and Client Adoption teams to ensure successful service delivery.
