The first teams who were built up were MS-IaaS and Workplace, followed by PO Windows, Technical Application Management and Network services.
The primary purpose of the Database Administrator is to service the complete Microsoft SQL database environment. This support includes proactive and reactive management on the complete database infrastructure based on MSSQL technologies (SQL 2008, SQL 2012, SQL 2014, SQL 2016). Besides SQL the team also supports a few SSIS, SSRS and SSAS environments.
This position is part of a new dynamic Database Administration team with highly talented individuals. The team has a can-do mentality and is eager to be on a winning team.
- Database administration position involving daily Monitoring and maintaining, guaranteeing a 100% Backup (and Restore), Incident- and Problem management, Capacity Management, Change Management, Security Management including authorization, Configuration Management, and troubleshooting of SQL databases in a big environment (over 400 instances and over 200 servers).
- Responsible for a 100% backup and a 99,5% plus uptime.
- Suggest and implement continuous improvements and automation proposals on both the server, as on procedures.
- Be a sparring partner with architecture for new SQL versions and new features / requests.
- Ensures optimal health and performance of the SQL infrastructure.
- First contact to clients for all kinds of requests.
- Responsible for recommending database solutions to recognize problems and for design and implementation of new SQL servers and/or databases.
- Responsible for Installation and Configuration of SQL server and databases.
- Responsible for setting and keeping up effective monitoring for alerts and capacity analysis and performance. Which is done within SCOM, DPA and in house build monitoring scripts.
- Responsible for creating, maintaining and updating documentation necessary to support the database operations by the DBA team.
- Responsible for enforcing Enterprise security policies and procedures on databases.
- Coordination with Application Managers to assure the continuity of the database applications as regards upgrades, versions, patches, new releases.
- Provide 24 x 7 on call support as part of a scheduled rotation with other team members.
- Implementing and supporting changes, also outside office-hours, also as part of a scheduled rotation with the other team members (planned changes).
- Provide advanced troubleshooting for applications and systems and advanced technical support for database related project activities.
- Provide technical advice on industry best practices.
- Provide mentoring to fellow administrators.
- Minimum of 3+ years in supporting SQL-server.
- MCSA SQL certified (2012 and/or 2016) or relevant documented practice level is nice to have
- Very good knowledge on SQL-server, concerning database, CPU and memory use, AlwaysOn /high availability solutions, Backup & recovery strategies and security measures.
- Experience with Redgate products is nice to have.
- Experience with Google Cloud or Azure is nice to have
- Knowledge of Microsoft DPM is nice to have.
- Ability to create and maintain tools and scripts with T-SQL and Powershell.
- Advanced knowledge of Powershell scripting.
- Flexible teamplayer.
- Proactive attitude also with keeping up all new developments for SQL server.
- ITIL knowledge (to be certificated).
- Good communication skills in English (both verbal and written).
- Great communicator within the team and customers such as Application mngt.
