The Infrastructure Data Management Product Management domain maintains a set of Products with a heavy focus on "Inventory Asset" Management (e.g. Servers, Webservers, Storage, Database, Network, etc.) and includes discovery, a CMDB and Integration layer. It's the core capability for creating IT Transparency and enabling Service Management Processes and supporting Automation of IT Operations.
The role involves:
- Working as part of the Business Analysis team for Infrastructure Data Management Product Management this role will be responsible for delivery of:
- Stakeholder analysis and requirements engineering.
- Elicitation-, analysis-, documentation-, supporting the prioritization of-, specifying- and communicating requirements, describing processes & use cases and proposing improvements, ensuring a common understanding between Business/Stakeholders and IT/Project.
- Collaboration with other BA's, Product Managers, Project Managers, TDA's, Architecture and Engineering within Enterprise Services to ensure high quality deliverables
- Collaboration with depending projects / releases inside and outside of Service Management Technologies
- Contributing to a reduction of implementation risks by delivering high quality requirement specifications.
- Actively supporting the complete lifecycle of requirements based on (the Business Analysts responsibilities within) CS-SDF (PtX)
Assist with unit testing and quality assurance as required.
Requirements analysis, prioritization and detailed specifications, documentation (40%). Collaboration with developers, project team, vendors, testing (30%). Engagement with stakeholders (30%)
- Constant learning opportunities in Inventory Management, implementation of a new tool and collaboration with senior engineers, product / project manager and a global team
- Challenging tasks in ensuring best practice in Business Analysis.
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent; alternatively a similar education in the IT space.
- Proven track record of 3 - 5 years' experience in the role as Business Analyst, preferably in the banking/finance industry.
- Strong analytical skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into Requirements and Functional Specifications.
- Evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
- Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Strong customer management, communication and influencing skills.
- Work independently with users to define concepts and under direction of project managers
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English) and the ability to (proactively) interact with a diverse group of stakeholders, managers, and subject matter experts.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to establish the design and strategy and analyze tradeoffs between key requirements.
- Detailed understanding of "Infrastructure Inventory" e.g. Databases, Web Services, Storage, Server and Network
Additional skills:
- Needs to be capable of working on own initiative.
- Experience with deployment of a CMDB product is a definite plus
- Experience with HP Asset Manager and/or ADDM is a plus.
- Experience with HP Quality Center is a plus.
- Experience with ITIL is a plus
The main objectives of Data Management Inventory team which this position is part of are to:
- Provide access to high-quality, centrally-managed infrastructure data to enable critical decision making
- Continue to improve quality of inventory data, strengthen data management governance,
- Simplify data access and onboarding of new assets (e.g. Network)
- Implement a new strategic inventory solution / CMDB.
