Job Description:
- Manage vendor and/or product provisioning, procurement, and delivery of voice services hardware and software
- Work with multiple client groups to ensure that shared infrastructure is meeting functional, service level and budgetary requirements
- Deploy, maintain and support voice technologies to provide business connectivity needs.
- Supporting deployed voice solutions and architecture.
- Deploy, configure and maintain a variety of voice technologies including: Microsoft Lync, Cisco Call Manager, Avaya
- Manage vendorproduct provisioning, procurement, and delivery of voice network service, hardware and software to agreed service levels and budgets.
- Maintain a high level of knowledge on the deployment of network and voice technologies.
- Report project status on a weekly basis.
- Report issues to local management and area management on a weekly basis
- Ensure technology standards ratification.
Build & Test Phase:
- Maintain and update system and network documentation
- Follow established development processes and standards for all work. Identify and propose improvements to the processes and standards as necessary.
- Participate in complex projects with minimal supervision or guidance
- Assist in compiling training materials to support operational requirements
Operating Phase:
- Provide Tier 2 and 3 operational support for deployed technologies such as CUCM, mobility servers, voicemail systems, toll bypass gateways and network infrastructure
- Maintain a high level of knowledge on the deployment of network and voice technologies
- Report and/or escalate issues to management
- Update standards documentation as necessary.
- Problem management; diagnosis, escalation, tracking and resolution
- Perform traffic engineering analysis on network facilities
Education:
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent HND certification in Telecommunications, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
- Professional certifications and knowledge of Call Manager or other Cisco products
- Proficiency in office automation tools (MS Office Project\Excel\Word\PowerPoint and Visio)
- Experience with E1 circuit ordering, provisioning, installation and trunk group configuration
- Knowledge of cabling/wiring interfaces, e.g., amphenol, V.35, db15, Cat 6, etc…
- Experience in establishing network interfaces, e.g. CUCM to adjunct equipment
- Knowledge of Microsoft Lync/OCS
- Experience with system alarm and network circuit diagnosis/resolution
- Experience of SIP in CUCM SIP Trunking
- Familiarity with advanced network based routing features
- Experience in interacting with telcos on problem resolution
- Understanding of multiplexing technologies
Work Experience:
- Minimum two years experience in telecom deployment or operational role
Work Requirements:
- On call support on a rotation basis
- After hours work may be required to meet deployment deadlines, fault resolution and change implementation
- Travel to project sites as needed
- Ability to work overtime
