EHS Manager

The EHS Manager will lead and advise on all Environment, Health and Safety, and Security activities within the business in order to ensure that the company’s environmental, health and safety, and security systems are effective in delivering a performance that complies with legal requirements, industry best practice and Johnson Matthey corporate expectations. To provide leadership, expertise and direction, developing and implementing improvement plans and developing systems and people to deliver EHS excellence throughout the organization.
Key responsibilities:
- Assign, direct, and coordinate efforts to effectively implement Johnson Matthey Group EHS and Security policies;
- Responsible for (advice, supervise and coordinate) the training and education programs as established in the EHS strategy to increase proficiency in safe practices and promote EHS consciousness, including training employees in our EHS procedures and systems;
- Working in conjunction with site leadership team, implement and maintain best possible working practices to provide safe operations for employees and surrounding communities including behavioral safety aspects;
- Provide timely and accurate required reports and analysis to site leadership team, Johnson Matthey Group EHS, and governmental agencies;
- Perform special inspections, investigations and assess internal EHS processes for continuous improvement;
- Provide direction to investigations of accidents / incidents at the site;
- Support the development and implementation of trend analysis, after action reviews, self-audit programs and associated EHS initiatives;
- Review and improve SOPs to ensure continued compliance and best practices within EHS;
- Act as a line manager to EHS team, ensure relevant skills, competencies, personal development programs;
- Ensure that JMBS staff, contractors and visitors to JMBS are aware of their EHS obligations and JMBS’s policies and requirements relating to EHS.
Are you the ideal candidate?
- Educated to at least degree level, preferably in related field of Occupational, Safety, Health, and Industrial Hygiene Management;
- Extensive supervisory and EHS experience;
- First-hand involvement with implementing or maintaining ISO14001 and OHSAS18001 certification;
- Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Native fluency in Polish; strong written and verbal English is required;
- Travel within Europe is required, with the potential for international travel as needed.
