Recently SABMiller has decided to open Global Business Services Centre to support refreshed operating model, take greater advantage of global skills and scale and support long term profitable growth. Global Business Services will be a customer focussed (we define customers in this document as our countries, regions, hubs and corporate i.e. internal) organization that delivers end-to-end processes, transactional processing and specialist services.
The role is required to support the GDC Lead in the Global Delivery Centre by identifying and managing project activities that support the delivery of project milestones including dependencies with other programme workstreams.
The Project Manager will act in a key liaison role between key stakeholder groups within the programme, including the IS organisation, system integrating partners and other suppliers, business customers and the GBS wider organisation.
The Project Manager will apply best practice and provide robust process and management control whilst understanding the need to be flexible to changing business needs and requirements.
Outputs and Accountabilities
The Project Manager will focus on the following key areas:
• Ensure that project objectives are being met to the appropriate quality standards
• Plan and schedule project activities
• Regular project reporting to the GDC Lead
• Financial monitoring of projects in line with financial processes
• Proactive management of risks and issues
• Manage projects in line with governance, assurance and audit requirements
• Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements through checkpoints in project schedules
• Completion of all project related documentation
• Respond to ad-hoc requests from Workstream Leads (StP, RtR, OtC, HtR), Tranistion Lead and Support Functions Leads (HR, Internal Finance, IT, Continuous Improvement) for information
• Ensure scope and other changes are adequately managed through change processes
• Work closely with the Central PMO to ensure information and governance requirements are met
• Overall support to GDC Lead in ad-hoc activities
Competence Requirements
Knowledge and Experience Required
Core Knowledge and Experience:
• Experience of managing projects, often simultaneously, in a fast-paced change environment
• Knowledge of project planning, implementation and management gained through experience using formal project planning tools and recognised project management methodology
• Relevant degree level qualification
• Project Management qualifications required – Valid PMP or Prince2 Practitioner certificate
• Other Management qualifications would be an advantage - Six Sigma, ITIL, Agile, MSP
• Technical knowledge of MS Project
• Experience of working in a complex PMO environment
• Functional knowledge - knowledge of the business issues and requirements associated with the setting up and running a global delivery centre
• Demonstrable experience of working with multiple stakeholders/vendors and securing their engagement to meet deadlines
• Good knowledge of business solutions in a shared service environment and potential impacts on the associated business functions
• Previous experience in transactional processes or specialist accounting functions would be a plus
• Strong business and finance acumen, preferably some experience of working in, or closely with, finance or accounting teams
