Tax Analyst
Purpose of the role
To support the Group Tax team in providing tax advice and meeting Tax compliance obligations across the Group.
Accountabilities
• To support the Tax compliance global process lead and the Group Tax team to ensure compliance with all legal tax obligations and monitor variances and identify areas of risk.
• Prepare and issue tax packs, report requests and other information requests for local tax compliance and for tax provisioning for local statutory accounts, group reporting and internal MI, including forecasting, as required
• Prepare tax returns and reconciliations for Direct and Indirect Tax, calculating tax liabilities and payments due. Local compliance preparation for the Polish entity and liaison with local Tax authority where appropriate
• Assist in managing any specific direct and indirect tax obligations in country including support for dealing with any overseas tax authority audit or enquiry with the ability to travel where necessary
• Drive the implementation of governance processes, escalating as appropriate to ensure timely resolution of issues

Qualification
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and Accounting or related field
• A Tax qualification is desirable
Skills
• Excellent analytical skills to support, for example relevant tax claims
• Ability to write clear, concise management reports and presentations
• Ability to influence, align diverse views and gain consensus, providing clarity and direction on what is to be achieved and break down barriers that get in the way of effective team working.
• Ability to prioritise and maintain clear focus in constant ambiguity and change
• Ability to operate effectively in an environment with tight deadlines and finite resource and uncertainty.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with ability to engage with and influence internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to work alone and without supervision and to integrate as part of a team as necessary, to work effectively in cross functional groups to achieve tax risk management and compliance objectives.
• Spanish language is desirable but not essential
Experience
• 1-3 years of tax experience with professional services firm or large multi-national corporation or tax authority
• Experience of reporting of direct tax for local and group accounting purposes (IFRS) and local GAAP
• Sound knowledge of tax compliance processes and systems
• Experience working in an environment of change involving people, process, policy and technology
• Experience working in a fast-paced, complex global organisation with finite resources
