Technology Research Specialist

The chosen candidate will:
- Perform complex research across technology topics and businesses and bring new ideas for delivering research findings. This includes in-depth research on geographic and/or horizontal segment trends, competitors, industry market trends and issues, and relevant technology topics utilizing several available sources.
- Contribute to the development of research assets that differentiate Accenture Research in the market, e.g., forecasting of market trends, modelling of survey data to size markets, impact evaluation of digital innovation, etc.
- Work closely with other research colleagues to remain vigilant regarding Technology-related opportunities within their sectors and countries
- Determine required project resources and costs and negotiate with customer. Define and manage the quality and quantity of research delivered.
- Actively contributing to Accenture, both regionally and globally. Taking part in team building activities, supporting the global Technology research team
- Contribute to build effective relationships with European and global customers within the practice, their support functions (Marketing, Sales, Operations, etc.), Accenture Technology Labs and Innovation Centers
We are looking for someone who has a comprehensive skill set:
“Hard” skills:
- Solid experience in secondary business and technology research and information retrieval methods and techniques, including market and competitor intelligence.
- Solid experience in packaging, synthesizing and presenting research deliverables; visible blogging/tweeting on an area of expertise is a plus
- Understanding and awareness of the dynamics of the enterprise IT industry, it’s history, and key stakeholders
- Demonstrated knowledge of two or more segments within the enterprise technology market, e.g., Intelligent Applications, Agile Delivery, SaaS platforms, Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, DevOps, etc. NB: By “knowledge” of a sector we mean understanding of some major segment trends, players, impacts, etc.
- Strong PowerPoint, Excel and Word skills. Knowledge of visualization tools such as Tableau is a plus
- Good written and oral communications skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues at the intersection of business and IT to c-level
- Experience in scoping and defining project requirements, as well as setting customer expectations for deliverables
- Ability to quickly grasp complex and unfamiliar subjects
- Understanding of business, regulatory, and economics issues at large
“Soft” skills:
- Enthusiasm to work effectively - independently, collaboratively, and virtually - in a global team (Europe, US, LatAm, South Africa, India, China)
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize/delegate appropriately and effectively
- Strong professional qualities: entrepreneurial, excellent customer acumen, confidence/decisiveness, integrity, resilience to stress against stretch goals/deadlines
- Good interpersonal skills, and the ability to deal with critical situations to the benefit of the team.
- Good balance between analytical rigor and intellectual curiosity. Track record in interpreting data creatively and delivering impactful insights
