Penetration Tester

Responsibilites
An application penetration tester is sought to perform penetration testing of client applications. The duties will include:
- Execute penetration tests for client applications as scoped and scheduled, and report findings.
- Apply both automated and manual testing methods to detect security related weaknesses in client applications.
- Communicate identified vulnerabilities and risk in consultation with development project managers in application teams.
- Reporting to the Security Testing Services penetration testing team lead.
- Liaise with the application owners and business to verify penetration testing requirements.
- Contribute to projects and their being on schedule and meeting client needs.
- Work closely with technical and non-technical peers and senior management to promote successful delivery of services and recommend other services where appropriate.
- Maintain the banks standards and professional approach, especially when under pressure.
- Keep colleagues informed of testing status; work collaboratively to communicate and share ideas to ensure team goals are achieved and application knowledge is shared within the team.
- Support less experienced staff by providing technical support and product knowledge.
Requirements
- 5 or more years of application penetration testing experience
- Work in a variety of technical environments, to match the changing technical environment within the bank.
- Structured approach to penetration testing projects.
- Good experience of automated testing tools. Familiarity with the Burp Suite tools preferable
- Detail focused in reporting and finding root causes of security vulnerabilities.
- Understand the critical importance of penetration testing in application security lifecycle.
