Senior Oracle Developer London

Your role will allow you to join a highly regarded team developing new functionality for the Global General Ledger suite of applications. These are high-performance, distributed systems, using core Java, Oracle and reporting technologies.

You will need to demonstrate:

• A skillful, professional approach to all aspects of software engineering
• Ability to collaborate users and business analysts to define functional specifications
• Quick understanding of functional requirements and translation into technical designs
• Ability to work as a member of a self-organizing agile feature team
• Strong skills in a range of technologies, acting as a generalizing specialist
• Self motivated approach, prepared to take responsibility for application design and implementation
• A readiness to learn and help others learn

Must have:

• Oracle development, including PL/SQL, database design, query tuning
• Reporting technologies (ideally Business Objects and / or Cognos TM1)
• Some experience of Java programming
• Development experience using Agile methods

Nice to have:

The ideal candidate would also have the following:

• Financial experience (preferably Investment Banking and ideally within a Finance or Regulatory environment)
• Test driven development
• Object orientated design
