Senior PHP / Magneto Developer

Job description

As the Development Lead you would have the fun & opportunity to:

• Lead the project development team

• Escalate any technical issues, roadblocks or project risks to the Delivery Lead

• Coordinate with the Delivery Lead on a regular basis to discuss the development quality measures for the project and assess that the best practices are being adhered to

• Provide the relevant development tools to the developers on the team

• Be responsible for the code being developed by the developers

• Manage the quality of the code being developed by the developers

• Conduct code reviews with the developers within the development team

• Support the Delivery Lead with estimations relating to the specialized areas or components

• Ensure code is documented where applicable or required

• Responsible for the health of the build server

• Lead the daily stand-up or scrum meetings

• Lead the deployments to each environment within the development lifecycle

• If necessary coordinate the development and technical activities across multiple parties/stakeholders

• Able to translate complex technical solution to the business stakeholders

• Ensure work completion within schedule, budgetary, and design constraints; make decisions about analysis, design, and testing; solve complex technical problems; provide alternative methods for achieving goals when necessary.

• May oversee or assist in preparation and submission of documentation, such as proposals, progress reports, or other contractual requirements

Requirements

• 5+ years of engineering management experience with a proven track record of delivering enterprise-class web and mobile applications

• PHP, Magento – at least 1 is a must have

• Expertise in Agile and Kanban methodologies

• Effective communication and presentation skills and the ability to articulate complex topics to audiences of varying technical abilities

• Self-motivated, organized and capable of managing multiple concurrent projects

• Ability to work independently and to lead / influence a geographically dispersed team

• Leveraging Service Oriented Architecture principles and programming in web technologies

• understands the principles of project planning and estimating; remote team/nearshore management; and client management
