We are looking for:
The Functional Support & Improvements Data Base Specialist provides a number of administrative activities to support Proximity Services (PS) regional and metrics managed directives. The role looks for data accuracy and is responsible for further developing of functionality in PS owned tools. Is responsible for generating one-off and recurring reports and publishing them in the group’s SharePoint site. Supplies data for such reporting as may be required for the PS global budget. Supports other administrative duties that result during periodic audits of the Data Center. Proactively develops knowledge in the complexity of Global Infrastructure Services (GIS) data center and storage facilities as well as in data protection and other security measures specific to PS.
Responsibilities:
- Provides administrative activities to support a global consistency of processes across operating regions
- Checks data accuracy in PS owned tool by continuous extension of self-designed queries
- Finds inconsistencies and reaches out to data owners for improvement
- Has responsibility for further developing of functionality using knowledge of MS Access, VBA and SQL
- Generates one-off and recurring reports, circulates to requesting parties and/or publishes them in the group’s SharePoint site
- Identifies areas for improvement and appropriately compiles data and information to create and maintain common rules and procedures for the PS network and applications that are administered in the aligned Regional Domains for PS
Skills and experience requirements:
- Degree in computer science or a related discipline
- English language skills - excellent written and verbal communication
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft SQL
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products especially Access including VBA
- Detailed knowledge of creating Forms including programming them in VBA
- Detailed working knowledge of Queries and Reports
- Good knowledge of Excel
- Detailed working knowledge of Excel functions such as the creation of pivot tables and other more advanced data sorting functions
- Detailed working knowledge in creating and developing appropriate presentations and reporting to be used in cross regional distribution in PowerPoint as well as Word
- Working knowledge in service management tools, ServiceNow, to create and access appropriate reporting within the tool and identify relevant data from same
- Advanced organization and documentation skills to appropriately capture relevant data for knowledge sharing within an allotted time frame. Solid understanding of knowledge sharing tools such as SharePoint to create user appropriate information elements and reporting that are readily assessable to the global PS team and others
