This role encompasses 2 areas of accountability: Project Management and Project Management Office.
The successful candidate will have an opportunity to deepen project management skills such as initiating, planning, executing, or monitoring, as well as technical skills, by gaining insight into all technologies used by International Paper globally. The role gives a great exposure to the whole IT organization, whether in EMEA, Russia, India, or the U.S.
within the Project Management Office scope:
- Manage Projects Portfolio by
- Providing data to IT Leadership on the status of EMEA projects portfolio that would foster making sound decisions
- Coordinating communication across portfolio of projects and programs
- Providing support for the budgeting process
- Developing, monitoring, and continually improving compliance with Project Management standards, policies, procedures, tools, templates, and other shared documentation i.e.:
- Providing expertise in the establishment and management of the Project Management Office for larger projects
- Establishing partnership within the IT community to track requests for improvements
- Monitoring IT projects performance by setting up and reviewing KPI’s and development of regular reports
- Serving as a source of project control information for Senior Management if needed
- Organizing and chairing regular meetings to review the Project Portfolio including Demand and Capacity balancing
- Build acumen about Project Management
- following training and knowledge transfer you will provide support and advice for managers and other stakeholders on Project Management standards in the organization
in the Project Management area:
- For smaller size projects:
- Perform all project planning activities that would include scope definition, schedule, budget, documentation
- manage execution and administrative closure
- ensure the program/initiative is on-time, on-budget, and meets the requirements and objectives set forth by our senior leaders within International Paper
- For larger initiatives support the Project/Program Manager in monitoring and controlling schedule, cost, resources utilization, documentation and changes
- Know, understand, and execute projects in accordance with the organization standards
- Work closely with other IP organizations worldwide to understand and implement business requirements
- Identify and communicate to stakeholders throughout the life of the projects, including executive level management
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree – preferably in the following areas: Information Systems, Business
Experience
- At least 3 years experience in IT project management is a must
- Proven exposure to projects portfolio management
- Experience with traditional (waterfall) methodology preferred
- Have experience and feel comfortable in preparing and presenting synthesized data
- Very good knowledge of MS Project and MS Office tools
Languages
- Proficiency in English, additional language would be an asset
