Laboratory & Methods Team Leader (Quality Department)

LOCATION: Johnson Matthey Battery Systems (Gliwice, Poland)
Responsible for providing leadership to a team (technicians), ensure deployment of statistical methods through organization.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and implement operating strategy for measurement laboratory (scope, operation methodology, training) taking into account automotive requirements;
- Ensure a high performing team that meets agreed objectives and which delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements by managing, coaching and competence development;
- Responsible for preparation and leading implementation of statistical tools based on internal and external requirements to support process control and process / product quality improvement;
- Ensure that incidents related to laboratory equipment and measurement systems are properly addressed and solved by creating finding reports and recommending proper corrective and preventative actions;
- Create and revise supporting quality Policies, Procedures and Tools to ensure their accuracy and compliance within quality laboratory and methods area; develops and writes internal specifications, work instruction and internal test methods;
- In collaboration with EHS department develop, implement and maintain best practices to ensure, within area of responsibility, compliance with all EHS, environmental, sustainability and security requirements, including all statutory regulations and ordinances.
Are you the ideal candidate?
Education:
- A degree in engineering / technology or equivalent backed up by at least 3 years’ experience in Quality department;
- Fluent in Polish;
- Appropriate command of English (B1).
Essential Skills:
- Excellent communication skills;
- Strong problem solving skills with over 3 years working with automotive Customers;
- Good working knowledge of the ISO 9001 and ISO TS / IATF 16949 standards and corresponding quality techniques such as security information audit, EMPB/PPAP, APQP, SPC, MSA, FMEA, Quality Audit with special emphasis on the problem solving / root cause analysis tools (5Why, Ishikawa, 8D, PDCA) and process error proofing (Poka-Yoke);
- EHS awareness;
- Analytical skills;
- Leadership skills.
Desirable Skills:
- Line management experience;
- Spoken and written German.
