Manufacturing Engineer

Job description
NES is looking for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer working in the field of electronics and electronics contract manufacturing. Position will be based at Jabil Circuits in Kwidzyn Poland but report directly to the Operations Manager for NES. Working directly with product design team in the US and the NES contract manufacturer in Poland. Engineering and Operations support teams are located in San Jose, California. Infrequent travel to US.
The Manufacturing Engineer responsibilities includes:
- Responsibility for New Product Introduction (NPI)
- Developing and improving manufacturing processes by studying product and manufacturing methods
- Ensuring highest standards of quality achieved by contract manufacturer in regard to PCBA manufacturing, product assembly, test and packaging
- Documentation ensuring, complying with all regulatory requirements
- Developing manufacturing processes by studying product requirements
- Researching, designing, modifying, testing, and documenting manufacturing methods and equipment
- Conferring with equipment vendors, product development teams, manufacturing test development teams and contract manufacturer
- Improving manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout with contract manufacturer
- Assuring product and process quality by testing finished product and process capabilities
- Providing manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, cycle times and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements
- Preparing product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information from manufacturing systems including throughput, yields and quality corrective action records
- Providing manufacturing engineering documentation covering MPI, PCBA assembly requirements, traceability and product handling/packing requirements
- Ensuring contract manufacturer meets regulatory requirements for NES products, including ISO and MID certification
- Supervision of factory technicians
- Presentation of technical Information to engineers and management
Requirements
Qualifications for this position are:
Knowledge and Skills:
- Fluent English, both verbal and written, with ability to communicate clearly with factory managers and engineering personnel
- Basic understanding of Hardware Specifications, Manufacturing Methods and Procedures, Manufacturing Quality
- Experience doing BOM creation and manipulation of MRP systems such as SAP or AGILE, Office, Visio, Access, Microsoft Project
- Able to work independently and proactively with minimal on-site supervision
Experience Requirements:
- Verifiable High School and University diploma
- 3 years work experience working with complex manufacturing systems and associated SQL database structures
