As a Senior Application and System Engineer you will contribute to the design, implementation and integration of a set of applications as well as the respective maintenance and 3rd level support.
Technical Requirements
- Unix (Solaris, Linux) environment system engineering, incl. packaging and configuration
management
- Shell scripting
- Oracle (SQL, PL/SQL) product expertise
- IT Security (authentication, authorization, cryptography, certificate management)
- Data management and migration
Knowledge in these other technologies/areas would be a plus
- Perl scripting
- Java/J2EE (especially EJB and Struts)
- Wintel environment (server as well as workstation)
- Oracle DBA experience
- Storage and archiving solutions:
- Product knowledge OpenText (CS, LEA, LES and OAS)
- Product knowledge IBM (CMOD)
General Requirements
- Ability to design, build and maintain applications in Agile as well as Waterfall environments
- Ability to liaise with Business Analysis to support the requirements engineering process as well as
conduct effort estimates for the respective project's engineering, testing and integration tasks
- Excellent technical and interpersonal skills
- Advanced communication in English
- You will be able to understand our partners' requirements and quickly resolve any potential issue
both in the project as well as in the productive environment
- You will be able to communicate to and influence stakeholders
- 5+ years' experience in similar positions
- Delivering software solutions to demanding product owners, being part of a large and (possibly)
distributed team
- e2e software development lifecycle with focus on the integration of 3rd party components
- Incident management, problem analysis in a complex environment with remote, multi-tiered
installations
Set of solutions are using in a large Investment Bank for process and archive all artefacts according to security and regulatory rules. They have a complex architecture based on UNIX (Solaris, Linux), Oracle, IBM products (CMOD) and OpenText products (CS, LEA, LES and OAS). The solutions hosted on UNIX and WebSphere, integrated with TSM, CMOD and SnapLock and using Oracle for storing meta-data as a staging area.
