SouthWestern ewoluowała z Grupy SWS, która została założona w 1957 roku i początkowo oferowała usługi dla sektora rolniczego. Zakres świadczonych usług rozwinął się znacząco na przestrzeni ostatnich dziesięciu lat.

Obecnie SouthWestern to niezależna Firma, która utrzymuje czołową pozycję na rynku irlandzkim w sektorze BPO

Główna siedziba SouthWestern mieści się w West Cork Business & Technology Park, Clonakilty, Co. Cork, Irlandia. Firma zatrudnia ponad 500 pracowników i obsługuje wiodące organizacje i przedsiębiorstwa mające swoje siedziby na Wyspach Brytyjskich. Branże obsługiwane przez SouthWestern to m.in. rynek mediów, bankowości i ubezpieczeń, paliw, FMCG, kolportażu prasy, centrów handlowych i telekomunikacji. Poza sektorem prywatnym, SouthWestern współpracuje z sektorem publicznym, w tym m.in. z Ministerstwem Rolnictwa w Irlandii.

W ramach BPO, od września 2007 SouthWestern jest obecna w Polsce pod nazwą SouthWestern BPS Poland Sp. z o.o., gdzie pod koniec roku 2007 uruchomiliśmy Centrum Operacyjne w Łodzi.
