For one of our clients, providing investment services across 5 continents, we are looking for FX Technology KDB Developer.

Location: Hong Kong

This role is required in the FICC eTrading group to build out and maintain pricing and risk management solutions for the global FX business. These systems are built predominantly in KDB, and are used a number of our businesses. As such ideally several years of strong, relevant KDB experience is required. This experience should span the support and augmentation of existing systems, in addition to incremental build outs of new platforms.

Typical uses for these platforms are quantitative research, signaling, management information and data mining. The platform also underpins many trader GUIs.

Given the Front Office nature of the role, previous experience of working in front office and one or more asset classes is also a distinct advantage. The role involves working directly with quants, traders and desk heads and as such the role requires individuals who are strong communicators and comfortable with pressure and demanding situations.

The platform is global in nature, and as such the day to day the role will require interaction with business and technology partners globally in addition to local Asia based stakeholders.

The current team structure is global, spread over multiple location. As a group, we communicate at all levels within the organization. Responsible for developing solutions in KDB and associated technologies and participating fully in the development process through the entire software lifecycle.
Responsible for providing specific, measurable and accurate estimates on short timescales in an intellectually challenging environment. Working with regional and global teams on delivering specific requirements.

Strong KDB skills, previous experience of building / managing significant KDB infrastructure and solid understanding of pricing/risk management concepts are required.
