Purpose of the role:

Provide financial modelling and analysis to facilitate investment decisions on new fleet purchases and strategic initiatives.
Provide specialist analytics expertise to Fleet and Networks FBPs to provide robust, high quality MI that helps the function to monitor and track performance and manage risks and opportunities.
Facilitate improvements in network profitability through the use of complex financial modelling and scenario based analysis.

Accountabilities:

• Conduct financial modelling and scenario analysis to support strategic fleet projects, such as aircraft purchases and fleet refurbishments
• Use creative modelling techniques to provide value added analysis
• Consolidate business insights for fleet initiatives within the DS teams to create high quality MI and business cases
• Conduct variance analysis for monthly management accounting reviews with FBPs, ensuring commentary is relevant, insightful and accurate with risks and opportunities identified and solutions offered
• Provide information to respond to internal audit requirements
• Perform ad hoc, specialised value-add analytics to support the group fleet and network strategy
• Provide information and analytics to support the network and fleet financial planning process
• Constructively challenge analytics framework, processes and methodologies, recommending changes that enhance and constantly improve the quality of output
• Conduct performance analysis for various company dimensions, such as long haul/short haul and airport hubs producing regular management information for FBPs
• Complete complex financial modelling and scenario based analysis in order to facilitate improvements in route profitability

Required Skills, Qualifications & Experience

Qualifications:

• Working towards professional finance qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) MBA considered

• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with resilience to resolve issues
• Business and financial acumen
• Ability to think creatively and propose different approaches to produce new business insights
• Ability to operate effectively in an fast moving, global environment with tight deadlines and finite resources
• Ability to prioritise and maintain clear focus in constant ambiguity and change
• Excellent written and spoken English
• A strong customer focus, committed to exceeding customer expectations and continuous improvement
• Ability to challenge process and support change
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Working knowledge of Spanish is an asset

Experience:

• 3-5 year’s relevant MI experience in a global organisation
• Experience working on a large project with accountability of delivering results that support the overall project objectives
• Experience working in financial process transition situations is an asset
• Proven ability to guide business decisions using data analytics to assess options for investment or business opportunities
