We are looking for motivated telecom professionals willing to become Interoperability Testing Engineer. The main challenges you will face include working in a multi-vendor lab environment with a vast selection of mobile devices and network elements found in modern 2G/3G/LTE cellular networks.
You will perform interoperability testing between Nokia RAN (eNodeB, RNC, BSC) and Core Network (MSS, SGSN, MME, S/P-GW, HLR/HSS) elements and other vendors’ (Ericsson, Huawei, etc.) network infrastructure.
You will have an opportunity to work with the latest smartphones (both commercial and prototypes) to assist Nokia R&D in implementing new cutting edge telecom features.
The IOT team also performs interoperability feature analysis for upcoming Nokia SW releases, test case design and project planning/reporting.
Additional responsibilities include installation, integration, configuration changes and SW/HW upgrades for various Nokia NEs as well as troubleshooting of interworking issues found in operators’ live networks.
Requirements:
- good end-to-end system knowledge for GSM, UMTS and/or LTE systems
- knowledge regarding at least one of following areas:
- protocols and signaling messages used on RAN interfaces (S1, X2, Iu-PS, Iu-CS, Gb, etc.)
- principles of Radio Resource Management, Packet Scheduling, Admission Control and/or Mobility procedures
- QoS mechanisms used in Radio Access and Core networks
- protocol/spectrum analyzers and/or test automation tools
- familiarity with telecommunication open standards (3GPP, IETF, ETSI, ANSI, ITU-T)
- fluent communication in English (both written and spoken)
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science or an equivalent education
- previous experience in interoperability test planning and/or execution is a plus
- related work experience with protocols/algorithms used in Radio Access Networks (BTSs, radio controllers and/or mobile devices)
- log collection and analysis skills with tools like Wireshark, QXDM, NEMO Outdoor, TEMS, XCAL
- user level experience for Linux operating systems
