For the world's largest logistic company operating around the world we are looking for the Principal Architect – Storage Platforms to join an IT HUB based in Prague.

At this position you will lead the development of high level integrated architecture roadmap with focus on enterprise storage systems, backup and recovery, compression, archiving, replication, storage disaster recovery and related technologies. Review, design, consolidate and innovate the company storage platform resources across corporate divisions and develop the most functional and cost efficient solutions for the organization. Articulate a plan for transition and its value to the business partners and key stakeholders, create consensus among them finding synergies that lead to the most optimal design and act as a single point of contact for them.

The job requirements will include: solicit customer’s strategic business objectives and technological perspectives, defining scope, business processes, projects & schedules; successful delivery of Consulting and Architecture projects. Work closely with senior and executive level customers to ensure projects and work packages are delivered in line with customer expectations, support selection of (sub) suppliers/vendors, verify cross divisional BU IT requirements, create/update group-wide service roadmap in compliance with supplier/vendor roadmaps, technology views, corporate standards, and BU requirements. Watch market trends, identify best practice services, propose changes, and drive technical development, monitor and review business case, foresee impact of running projects on the existing services and identify risks or necessary changes, escalation management for cross-divisional problems, conduct service & supplier reviews, ensure compliance to overall IT Strategy & Architecture standards, drive standardization of compliance requirements and their management for the divisional services.

You will develop and maintain high level of technology expertise, enhance professional standards, improve inter-cultural/social capabilities to support a global organization, contribute technical expertise to the Hosting virtual teams in developing and implementing strategies and standards, service descriptions, product specifications, and roadmaps; educate internal customers as to product standards and strategy. We look for experience in customer facing consulting role as well as proven track record with migration projects, high-level technical knowledge of storage solutions preferably from vendors like NetApp, EMC, HP and Brocade, understanding of operating systems, databases, data protection, data center high availability and clustering.

Knowledge in IT project management and its methodologies (i.e. PRINCE2, PMI) and a proven track record in shaping complex industrial business processes in an international environment, process skills; an understanding of process costs, ability to work with supplier to ensure effective operations and agreed upon service levels, knowledge of business environment, service requirements and culture, experience in a leadership role, proven ability to work in a multi-cultural multi-functional environment where consensus is critical for success.
