R&D Technical Team Leader

The role holder at this level uses expertise in software and solution development methods and management techniques to estimate, plan, and lead well-defined programmes of development work, to time, quality and budgetary targets; motivates and grows software and solution developers.

  • Project team leading. Act as a project team leader as required. Prepares a structured project definition and plan based on the requirements and ensures that all deliverables have clearly defined acceptance criteria. Ensures own and team skills profile meets the customer’s needs. Working closely with Project Managers and Product Owners to manage all duties assigned to the team for all the phases of the project. Participate in reviews and meetings and provide updates on project progress. Take responsibility for ensuring that risks and issues are identified and managed closely.
  • Product Development. Designs, develops, implements and tests modules and products including hardware, software, operating systems, firmware in line with agreed timelines, budget, costs, quality and development standards. Develops of the customer solution on time, to budget and in accordance with agreed standards. Delivers the customer solution in accordance with Fujitsu processes and policies. Managing the delivery of single project/module.
  • Process Improvement. Suggests and implements proposals for process improvements within delivered R&D projects Innovation. Uses new technologies and methods actively to develop highly competitive products and applications
  • Documentation. Provides technical documentation on realized modules / products, following internal standards Maintenance. Provides Back Level maintenance support, including problem solving, for modules belonging to developed products or applications.
  • Lifecycle. Provides development support during lifecycle of modules and products. Is responsible for development of new versions and updates based on defined requirements
  • Technical Expertise. Maintains high level of product and solution knowledge. Maintains his skill profile up-to-date. Capable of understanding and contributing to the technical solution from design through to code level.
  • Knowledge sharing. Guides less experienced team members and recommends practice improvement. Maintains his skill profile up-to-date. Actively drives networking of development community.
  • Stakeholder management. Ensure awareness, involvement and support from the key stakeholders and participants by building strong project teams and maintaining robust communication on the project status throughout its life cycle.
  • People Management. Responsible for the day to day line management of the team. Provide regular and honest feedback to the team memebers. Increasing productivity and creating a learning organization focused on continuous improvement. Take and active role in hiring, retaining and releasing resources, training and coaching.
  • Mix of service and project management skills
  • Experience in working with a dynamic environment and constantly changing circumstances
  • Minimum 5 years of business experience in service oriented environment
  • Managerial skills record minimum 2 years
  • Understanding of CI/CD approach (e.g. jenkins)
  • Understanding of code versioning tools (e.g. Git)
  • Understanding of C applications development
  • Tasks and know how management tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence)
  • Experience with Linux/Windows platforms
  • Business driven approach
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in the English language (minimum B2)
