Following recent investments in their business, especially concerning modernization and expansion of production lines, as well as a change in organizational structure, we are looking for a suitable candidate to the position of Contentious Improvement Manager. The purpose of the position is to improve the quality of production through the coordination of project activities with all the organizational units of the Plant.
Job description
Managing a team of multi-skilled individuals across projects you will advise the Plant Director (direct supervisor) on improvement plans according to world class production standards.
You will plan, organise and control (and regularly review) engineering projects, in order to ensure the achievement of both day-to-day and longer-term targets with respect to quality, output and costs.
You will ensure that engineering projects are costed, designed, installed and commissioned to agreed timetable and within specified budget.
You will be responsible for continuous improvement and site maintenance, as well as, implementing strategies such as PM, TPM 5S, SMED, Keizen, Autonomous Maintenance and LEAN activities to the facility.
You will monitor and control the capability of the site equipment and facilities to deliver the anticipated needs of the customer; ensuring that all equipment and facilities meet or exceed legislative and corporate requirements for continuous operations.
You will implement and sustain monitoring of equipment and facilities so preventative maintenance can take place to reduce the impact of downtime.
You will plan, provide and initiate continuous improvements trough excellent communication, active promotion of team working and effective attitude being a key person responsible for the feedback and feed forward of information.
Who we are looking for
To achieve the required results in this mission, the successful candidate will demonstrate:
- High degree of education in a relevant (engineering) subject;
- Experience in and examples of managing Lean improvements to Manufacturing
- Proven track records of various projects implementation (examples of successful project delivery and performance achievement ).
- Ability to understand and manage projects from inception to beneficial use
- Ability to manage to tight timescales
- Ability to work within a team environment
- Computer literacy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (including presentation skills)
- Ability to gain a broad understanding of complex engineering and processes
