Network Operations Engineer

Currently, for our Client in Slovakia, we are looking for Candidates to join the Kosice team as a Network Operations Engineer.

What You Will Do

• Work at customers Network Operations Center (NOC) in Kosice / Slovakia
• Involve in high-touch technical consulting roles with the customer, demonstrate deep technical capability, together with the ability to fully understand all aspects of a customer’s technical and business environment
• Analyze complex network designs and diagnose networking problems
• Act as the technical specialist and lead for complex customer environments
• Collaborate with the service delivery team for customer T-Systems
• Communicate with different customer instances including also different management levels

Who You Are

• BS, CS, University degree or equivalent and 5+ years of experience in network engineering or telecommunications support environment
• Good knowledge of Cisco product lines, supported technology and networking solutions
• Broad technical knowledge of IP networking, data center solutions and virtualization concepts
• Engineer must participate in 24 by 7 on-call duty every 3 or 4 weeks alternating with other Cisco engineers, including the ability to reach customer’s site within two hours after being alerted
• Expert level knowledge in datacenter technologies including:
  • Nexus 7000 & Fabric Path
  • Nexus 5000/7000 & vPC
  • Nexus 2000 fabric extenders
  • Catalyst 6500 & VSS
  • Nexus 1000
  • Cisco 7600 & ISR & ASR9K
  • UCS skills are advantageous but not required
• In-depth knowledge and experience with:
  • Incident Management (together with Cisco TAC)
  • Problem Management
  • Change Management (plan, prepare, execute & support changes in the networks)
  • Represents Cisco at the customer’s on different levels of management; work hand in hand together with customer’s technical staff, leading and mentoring them
• Additional skills required in this role:
  • Fluent in English language, written and spoken
  • Local language knowledge is a plus but not strictly required
  • CCIE level skills for Routing & Switching and Datacenter technologies are required, CCIE-certification is desired and preferred
  • Strong business acumen, including the ability to fully understand customer's overall technical and business needs

• Technology leadership skills to include coaching / mentoring, critical thinking / judgment, facilitation, leading change, and team development
• Willingness and ability to work with teams, ability to build relationships using an open and respectful communication and collaboration style
• Cross-functional contribution and impact with development engineering on product development and serviceability design
• Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certification in at least one track relevant for the unified infrastructure area is a plus
