As a part of the Global Customer Delivery organization, Service Assurance (SA) EMEA provides services and supports technology teams in delivering services for managed service projects.
The Optics Technical Support Engineer role is located in Multivendor BackEnd team which is responsible for operating various multi-technology, multi-service and multi-vendor networks support in real-time.

Main responsibilities:
- Technical support for major network outages, ensuring clear communication to all parties, acting as the control point for management escalation.
- To ensure the networks are optimised and running at customer agreed performance targets.
- Participate in planning and implementation for successful integration and installation of new features and upgrades in the network and/or management systems.
- Training the GNOC front line on new features deployed in the network.
- Produce and maintain quality standards and documents for TSE Team.
- Liaise with customers and/or vendors as point of contact at senior technical level.
Qualifications:
- University degree in telecommunication, IT science or equivalent.
- 3+ years technical experience in at least one of the following areas: maintenance, monitoring, designing, exploitation of telecom or IT networks.
- Good skills in PDH,SDH, DWDM
- Working experience in the operational field such as network surveillance & maintenance would be a strong advantage.
- Working knowledge of HP-UX, Solaris and/or Linux RedHat server systems.
- Hands-on knowledge of telecom multi-vendor equipment (Alcatel-Lucent, Ericsson, Ciena, Nortel, Marconi, Siemens, Cisco, etc.) including transport, switching and voice products would be a strong advantage.
- Fluent written & spoken English is a must.
