The Piping Designer II will be responsible for design and development of piping plans, elevations, and fabrication drawings for process piping supply and distribution systems
- Create, read, comprehend, and interpret Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), detailed Mechanical/Piping layouts, and Isometrics to eliminate errors during fabrication.
- Create, read, and comprehend line, manual valve, and site tie-in lists.
- Print and pre-check all piping isometric’s and related drawings needed for shop fabrication.
- Assemble fabrication and installation drawing packages.
- Update drawings using rough sketches and/or requests from engineer / designer.
- Check equipment and other piping components from cut sheets to verify accuracy.
- Check drawings for the correct dimension, adherence to codes, specifications and standards required.
- May take lead on assigned design projects.
- Travel domestically and internationally 0-10% per year.
- Develop and maintain relationships with employees at all locations.

Work is performed in an office and an uncontrolled atmosphere. Exposure to harsh conditions—such as: dust, fumes, chemicals, hazardous materials, noise, and varying weather and temperatures—for short periods of time is possible. Must be able to travel to jobsites both domestically and internationally; living accommodations in some foreign assignments may not meet expected U.S. standards. All employees are required to follow safety standards and wear all personal protective equipment in designated areas.
- Associate’s degree in Computer-Aided Drafting or a related degree is preferred.
- 3-5 years experience as a CAD drafter or designer.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD (Required) and AutoCAD Plant 3D (Preferred).
- Proficiency with Navisworks Freedom/Simulate/Manage.
- Computer skills and an in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows based programs are required.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD Inventor.
- Familiarity with industrial, petrochemical, sanitary, and pharma industries.
