Senior Backend developer with Big Data

100% remote

B2B: 1000-1100 zł MD

• Experienced (5 yrs+) with JVM programming (at least one of Java, Scala) and backend frameworks like Spring Framework and Spring Boot (includes Spring Data, Spring AMQP, Spring Security)
• Experience in Big Data processing with Apache Spark
• Java testing frameworks (JUnit/TestNG or Spock), Performance testing (e.g. Gatling)
• Knowledge about architecture and design of big data solutions, being able to justify decisions and choices
• Experience in tools for orchestrating and monitoring data processing pipelines
• Experienced with different data formats for big data (e.g. PARQUET) and data compressions
• Proficiency in SQL language for relational databases and knowledge of NoSQL database types (MongoDB, ElasticSearch)
• CI/CD experience using tools like Jenkins, GitLab or Bamboo
• Familiar with DevOps and IaaC toolset (Docker, Ansible, Terraform)
• Familiar with public clouds platforms (e.g GoogleCloud/AWS/Azure/Google)
• IDEs (IntelliJ, Eclipse), build tools (Maven/Gradle), code quality tools (e.g. static code analysis)
• Ability to work with Linux systems (to diagnose application problems)
• Fluent English is a must
• Comfortable in a distributed work environment (part of the team working remotely and in different time zones, Product Owner and users in California calls after 5pm 12 times a week)

• Design and implementation of big data software solutions and justify the choices to the Product Owner
• Review the current architecture and confront this with challenges, limitations and new requirements
• Share the knowledge by code/design reviews
• Project in a therapeutic research area: genetics, biotechnology
