Your role
Do you want to design and build next generation business applications using the latest technologies? Can you lead a team of engineers to deliver robust solutions with respect to time and budgets. Are you confident at iteratively refining user requirements and removing any ambiguity? Do you like to be challenged and encouraged to learn and grow professionally?
We're looking for software engineers to:
- lead the design and implementation of Data Warehouse applications and architectures, in the context of Intraday Liquidity reporting
- drive solution development as we move to be one of the first teams to use our cloud based big data solution.
- analyse business requirements for our current and upcoming regulatory and MIS commitments
- deliver sustainable and scalable solutions using distributed processing
- providing technical expertise and recommendations in assessing new software projects and initiatives to support and enhance our existing applications
- conduct code reviews and test software as needed, along with participating in application architecture and design and other phases of SDLC
- see that proper operational controls and procedures are implemented to process move from test to production
- organise the development team members, plan work taking in considerations individuals strength while supporting current business needs
Responsibilities
Your expertise
- very experienced software engineer/developer focused on application development and data modelling best practices. Experience of multi-layer architectures and distributed computing solutions, ideally delivered to the cloud
- experience with RDBMS, strong SQL skills, PL/SQL knowledge essential
- other coding languages desirable, Python, Java
- experienced with HDFS/ADLS an advantage
- experience of visualisation and reporting tools (Tableau, Power BI) and advantage
- know-how to apply standards, methods, techniques and templates as defined by our SDLC
- have strong analytical & design skills and be structured and systematic in your approach
- delivery of secure and clean code that is stable, operational, consistent and well-performing
- experienced working on teams using Agile development methodologies (Scrum, XP, TDD)
- excellent communicator, able to adapt style and detail to the audience
- fluent in English essential
- finance sector, banking and/or Treasury experience is an advantage
- bachelor's/master's degree or equivalent with a focus in Computer Science, Engineering or Finance related subject
