As a Documentation Specialist you are responsible for produce high-quality documentation that contributes to the overall success of our Cisco Asset Management products and platform. You will also:
- Write technical materials, such as equipment manuals, appendices, or operating and maintenance instructions.
- Assist in layout work.
- Gather and research information for use in technical documentation. 4-5 years of experienced are required.
What skills you need to have to become a perfect Candidate:
- Associate's Degree in Technical Writing, English, Communication or related field
- 5 years of proven working experience in technical writing of software documentation
- Fluent proficiency in spoken and written English language (knowledge of German would be a plus)
- Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements
- Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities
- Create and maintain the information architecture
- Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience
- Write easy-to-understand user interface text, online help and developer guides
- Study drawings, specifications, mockups, and product samples
- Create user documentation for a variety of material, including how-to guides and instruction manuals
- Ensure technical verbiage is easy to understand by the layperson
- Research and gather information on their subjects
- Prepare charts, graphs, or forms to go along with rough drafts
- Create tutorials to help end-users use a variety of applications
- Basic familiarity with the SDLC and software development
