Job Description
The Unix System Administrator will be responsible for providing 2nd line support for escalate system and user problems. Will report to Regional Manager and work within a team of experienced engineers.
Main tasks:
- Implement user andinfrastructure change requests as required.
- To liaise with hardware vendors and service providers on operational issues, technical solutions and strategies in line with Global initiatives
- To provide control, manageability and integrity of the environment to maximise service availability to the users reports and process controls as required by the Regional UNIX manager
- To assist in the design, testing and implementation stages of UNIX projects in Europe
- To suggest and implement technical solutions that ensure control, manageability and integrity of the environment to maximise service availability to the users
- Bachelor's or Masterdegree in computer science
- 2 years experiencewithin a large Unix environment (SUSE or Redhat preferred)
- Experience in Solaris10 Systems Administration
- Knowledge aboutfollowing technologies: Solstice Disk Suite, Veritas Volume Manager, VeritasCluster Server, NIS
- TCP/IP Networking (Working knowledge)
- Storage technologies (EMC, Clariion, 3PAR, Netapps), Powerpath and DMP (Working knowledge)
- Very good English
- Willingness to work in Wroclaw
