We're growing fast and looking for a new colleague to join as a Backend Engineer
Everyday our engineers design, develop, test, release, operate and measure the Planday product under the Agile philosophy, and in doing so, redefine the interaction between businesses and employees around the world.
Planday's Market Rules team plays a key role in this global picture, developing a centralized set of rules to help organizations to comply with union and government rules.
We are now hiring for a Backend Engineer based out of our new office in Gdańsk, Poland who will form a key link in our internationally distributed Scrum team of developers, designers, and product managers.
You can expect to work with the following:
- Have a natural curiosity towards learning new things, and the desire to innovate and grow your own abilities
- Collaborate with (and learn from) colleagues who have a profound understanding of other disciplines like design, project-management and Front end development; in highly agile teams
- Take complex business problems and convert them into simple clean code solutions across multiple platforms
- Design and develop various components of Planday, data transformation services, import and export services, cross domain integrations, Azure and .NetCore (C#)

Our ideal Backend Engineer is accustomed to a distributed team structure and the ability to build business logic and tests. You are capable of switching contexts effectively and reach pragmatic solutions through quick decision making.
- Very good knowledge of C# and .NET / .NET Core / .NET 6
- Analytical and critical thinking skills and the ability to clearly communicate your ideas
- Good knowledge of REST API design and documentation principles
- High understanding of software development practices, patterns, and technologies (Clean architecture, SOLID, DI/IoC, GIT)
- Knowledge of relational and document database concepts
- 2-3 years of experience in an agile team, working with continuous delivery and experience in independently writing code used by real users
- Hands on experience with microservice architecture (including CI/CD process)
- Good English communication skills
- Team spirit, curiosity to learn, and desire for improvement
It would be beneficial if you have knowledge/experience with the following – but we want to hear from you even if you don’t.
- Experience with Azure is a plus
- Other used technologies: RabbitMQ, Redis, Octopus, TeamCity, CosmosDb
- Positive attitude, looking for solutions when any problems arises
- Able to collaborate well with others and the ability to clearly communicate your ideas
- Willingness to work from office (2-3 times in a week)
