The Global Architecture and Delivery Processes (GADP) group is looking for highly motivated and self-driven individuals to contribute to the automation of Managed Services Software Defined Data Centre portfolio offerings. The Infrastructure automation developer will be responsible for the customisation of existing automated Standard Service Requests (SSR) as well as the creation of new SSRs meeting specific customer requirements during pilot and production deployments.
Reflecting the trend of increasing automation across converged infrastructure stacks, the position requires deep programming knowledge as well familiarity with infrastructure technologies (networks, servers and storage). The ability to work closely with other parts of GADP, GD global service architects and vendor SMEs to accelerate the industrialisation of services is also required.
The role will provide ample room for development and “learning by doing” exploiting state of the art technologies and providing an opportunity for skills development as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Key responsabilities:
- Works closely with deployment project teams, vendors and GADP to:
- Advise on feasibility, effort and timeline of customisation work
- Develop, test and document customisations
- Integrate customisations into the customer landscape and handover to support Towers and customer stakeholders
- Develops, tests low level automation workflows using GADP selected programming languages and tooling
- Maintain automation workflows documentation and standards
- Produce all the artefacts required as part of ATLM framework to ensure operational readiness
- Provide training sessions to ensure wide communication of the availability of the artefacts including how to use them
- Maintains release management of ATLM artefacts on the basis of:
- Feedback from on the field deployments
- Feedback as a result of MI/escalations
- Vendor’s best practice changes
- Maintains GADP SharePoint and blueKiwi collaboration spaces, in particular Atos Technical Reference Library
- Keeps abreast of key technology developments through collaboration with GADP development teams, strategic vendors and attending industry events and training as required
- A minimum of 5 years experience in programming and development
- Strong knowledge of VMware vRA/vRO and VMware APIs
- Familiarity with:
- Java/javascript
- REST/XML
- Puppet/chef
- Linux and windows scripting languages including powershell
- Familiarity with DevOps principles and tools
- Experience in Agile development
- Track record working in a global role with emphasis on collaborative working
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and be comfortable prioritizing own work accordingly
- A reasonable level of planning and reporting skills as well as the wiliness to learn new technologies
- Fluency in English
