Lead the design, development and testing of and integrated code base with Java at it’s core.
Ensure best practices for continuous integration and delivery are integral to the design.
Work closely with the engineering team, architects and client teams to ensure the product meets agreed functional and non-functional needs.
Work closely with program management and agile management team members to plan, track and adapt to keep delivery on track.
Help architect component distribution and/or software selection, contribute to architectural design and frameworks
Ensure system capacity, performance and failure recovery architecture including design and execution of both functional and non-functional tests
Apply your knowledge of industry trends, existing products and emerging developments to improve service to our clients.
Minimum of 6 years' experience in solution development in a commercial or enterprise software engineering environment.
Minimum of 2 years' experience in leadership role(s).
Minimum 5 years' experience in application development and support using .Java technologies (e.g., Fuse / JBoss, Hibernate, Spring, JCAPS, JUnit, Tomcat, JMeter, JIRA, Jenkins, Git), third-party objects and other similar technologies.
Scala skills are desirable
Cloudera CDH 5.x, Spark + ecosystem for both
Agile SDLC knowledge and experience
Proven continuous integration and continuous delivery skills
Proven Experience with software development estimating techniques.
Experience with relational and non-relational data platform components highly desirable.
Spring XD / Batch – good to know
Experience with unit testing systems and validation tools.
Highly organized and deadline oriented with demonstrated attention to detail.
Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills including ability to listen attentively and to communicate information clearly and effectively throughout all levels of the organization with audiences of varying degrees of familiarity with technical material.

To be successful you will have a track record of shipping large scale Java based solutions with exceptional quality. You will have direct experience in shipping in a continuous integration model and developing software using agile techniques. In addition you will ideally have a solid understanding of modern big data and streaming technologies, such as Hadoop, Spark and Scala, and be able to appropriately integrate them into a cohesive product.
