- Working with end users and developers to understand correct performance or stability issues.
- Helping users create reports and provide advice and guidance as to how the reports should be structured
- Owning the platform and ensuring that the latest version of various software is patched in an applied and controlled manner
- Verifying whether developers have completed testing and drive the deployment of software from the development environment into UAT and finally into production
Experience in creating robust BI reports using OBIEE and understanding of the OBIEE platform
Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to solving problems
Organised and detailed to deliver version upgrades with minimum supervision
Ability to cross train into a development or support management role
Understanding of Agile SDLC, Continuous Integration, Automated Testing
Readiness for occasional participation in weekend activities (e.g. post release support and infrastructure post upgrade testing)
Production support experience in a related business area would be a plus
The project goal is to primarily support and maintain a complex BI+ETL+DWH system which should allow business stakeholders to trace their main KPIs as well as comply with external regulation requirements. The support team will be expected to help performance tune reports as well as verify and maintain the stability of the platform. The successful hire will also be involved in project work including updating the platform to new versions, failover of the environment and capacity planning. The Oracle BI Support Engineer will also be the guardian for the production and UAT environment.
