Job description
Role:
Work as a member of the team, to lead and deliver robust, user-friendly, high quality software to challenging deadlines.
Specific tasks will include:
- Software Testing based on industry best practise and experience
- Review Software Requirements Documentation & Specifications
- Create and maintain Test Cases from Requirements documentation & Specifications that clearly define and verify the acceptability of software
- Executing Test scripts, test cases according to industry best practice and experience
- Test & Defect Reporting based on industry best practice
- Liaising with the Project Management and Development teams to ensure adherence to quality during the development and testing process
- Test Planning and resourcing
- Test Risk Management & mitigation
- Test Summary & Exit Reports to Project Stream Leads
- Provide Status Reports to QA Team Lead on Test Activities
- Troubleshoot and analyse issues
- Providing mentoring and guidance to other team members
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years software testing experience in web based software, with a minimum of 1 years experience in a Senior Software Testing Role
- Work Working knowledge of Relational databases/ANSI SQL (ORACLE, DB2 or SQL Server)
- Insurance and Banking business experience a distinct advantage
- ISEB Foundation Certificate in Software Testing (or equivalent) an advantage
- Proven ability to lead a project from a QA perspective, and an ability to work well as a member of the greater QA team.
- Detailed knowledge of Test & Software Development lifecycles
- Strong Test Analysis/Investigative skills
- Ability to work against tight deadlines
- Excellent customer facing and interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills preferably with experience working directly with customers
- Ability to use own initiative and work to tight deadlines
- Flexibility and willingness to travel to client sites when necessary
- Fluency in verbal and written English is essential
