Software Engineer

Job description

We are keen to hire talented and highly motivated individuals who believe they can make a significant contribution to the growth of a market leader. FINEOS seeks to strengthen its Gdansk based project team and had an exciting opportunity for a Java Software Developer.

The Software Developer / Consultant role is to develop solution components of the highest quality to industry best practice. This is not a pure 'developer' role - it requires people with an aptitude for appreciating the bigger picture, who can question and contribute to delivering the best solution, while maintaining a focus on delivering quality and value to the customer.

Specific responsibilities to include:

• Develop and unit test complex components of FINEOS implementations.
• Be able to work on their own, or as part of a team, to strict deadlines.
• Work with other disciplines to refine/enhance their understanding of the solution.
• Liaise with Senior Consultants for design handover and direction.
• Take part in workshops to determine requirements and approach.
• Build and deploy FINEOS Solutions in house and on site.
• Compile and review low level Analyses and Design documents.

Requirements

The suitable candidate would ideally possess most of the following:

• Strong Experience in a technically challenging development role.
• Excellent Communication Skills.
• Strong JAVA development Skills.
• Good practical knowledge of specific technologies:
• JAVA, including J2EE Technologies such as
• JSP, JMS, JNDI
• Application servers: Websphere, Weblogic, Tomcat
• Databases: DB2, Oracle, SQL Server
• Development Tools: Apache Ant, Maven, Junit, Eclipse, Subvision.
• Experience using one or more of the following middleware and integration technologies: SOAP (over HTTP/JMS), WebsphereMQ, SOA,
• Aqualogic (Oracle Server Bus).
• Good general technical knowledge, focus on quality with an appreciation of the customer deliverables.
• Proven excellent technical problem solving capabilities.
• Promote and live the FINEOS values and increase positive relations with team, customers, prospects and partners.
• Experience of working in a vendor environment would be an advantage.
• IT Background in financial services or insurance sectors would be an advantage.
• Flexibility and willingness to travel to client sites when necessary.
• Fluency in verbal and written English essential.
