Managing final delivery of the service implementation.
Focus on provision of Production Assurance IT services to the business & other IT users using extensively ITIL methodology and lifecycle to improve existing and new IT service activities.
Responsibility for the daily operational activities of team of Deployment Managers including:
- Coordinating release documentation and communications, including training and customer, service management and technical release notes.
- Provision of clear, comprehensive deployment plans that enable users, support groups and application/service providers to align their activities during the transitions.
- Plan the deployment in conjunction with change and knowledge management and service asset and configuration management. Provide feedback on the effectiveness of the release.
- Making sure that knowledge transfer to support groups is part of the release plans and it is effective.
- Responsibility for planning and controlling the movement of releases to production environment.
- Ensuring (by system and documentation testing wherever possible) that the integrity of the live environment is protected and that the correct components are deployed.
- Coordinating multiple software deployments across IT hardware infrastructure and their rollout for full operational use.
- Planning release windows and cycles across a portfolio.
- Managing risks and resolves issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality.
- Measuring and monitoring progress to ensure application releases are delivered on time and within budget, and that they meet or exceed expectations.
- Coordinate release content and effort based on the service request backlog, pending service requests, third party applications, or operating system updates.
- Ensure that a detailed deployment plan has been documented along with a back out plan should anything go wrong during deployment.
- Conducting Release Readiness reviews, Milestone Reviews, and Business Go/No-Go reviews.
- Maintaining Deployment, Run Books and Implementation Plans.
- Regular Release Reporting.
- Communicating release details and schedules to all lines of support and application/service owners as required.
- Negotiate, plan and manage all release activities.
- Participate in CAB meetings to discuss release scope and/or roadblocks
Ensuring that support SLAs, OLAs and UIC are strictly adhered to.
Management of archiving and updating operational documentation and procedures for services, applications and processes.
3-5 years of experience as team member or manager of Release & Deployment team in IT Service Organization, working with Change Management and Release & Deployment Management processes and correlating ITIL processes including specifying, designing, and implementing deployment strategies for scaled IT infrastructures.
Strong sense of ownership of IT services quality, and customer orientation, ability to proactively follow up on customer issues.
Strong ITSM processes orientation.
Experience in working within financial sector is a plus, but not a pre-requisite.
Excellent communication skills in English – listening, verbal and written – including meeting management and facilitation.
Extensive knowledge of software development lifecycle.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion
Demonstrated effective leadership and analytical skills.
Solid communication skills, both verbal and written
Preferred candidates with IPMA, Prince 2 or PMI certifications, ITIL certification.
BA / BS in Computer Science / Information Systems or equivalent experience
Experience working as an IT Project Manager is not mandatory but preferred.
