Big Data Consultant (remote work)

Job description
- Implementing large scale clustered data processing systems
- Working both independently and as part of a team, involved from design to implementation in all phases of big data projects
- Ability to design big data solutions and develop code, scripts and data pipelines that leverage structured and unstructured data integrated from multiple sources
- Participating in requirements and design workshops with our clients
- Designing, developing, documenting and architecting applications, development and testing plans
- Securing components of clients’ Big Data platforms
- Diagnostics and troubleshooting of operational issues
- Health-checks and configuration reviews
- Data pipelines development – ingestion, transformation, cleansing
- Data flow integration with external systems
Requirements
- Bachelor\'s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related fields (equivalent work experience considered)
- 5 years minimum experience working with large scale clustered data processing systems
- Technical background and that can be translated to business sense
- Flexible and ready to travel
Experienced with:
- Big Data related technologies, methodologies and best practices
- Data warehousing and business intelligence systems, reporting tools, data visualization products
- SQL and relational databases
- NoSQL databases (e.g., HBase, Cassandra, Mongo DB)
- Transforming business needs into software/system design
- Designing and implementing complex data processing applications
- Strong knowledge of systems development and project management Agile methodologies/processes
- Multiple development platforms, frameworks, and languages such as Python, Java
- Linux/Unix
