We are seeking a Compliance Manager to join our dynamic Legal & Compliance team in Poland. The position will have responsibility for supporting the implementation of and ultimately leading Aon’s Compliance Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Poland.

 

The candidate should be able to work independently with minimal supervision. The person must be able to manage a team in a fast-paced environment. The role sometimes requires working under pressure and a need to balance speed, flexibility and quality. Strong English written and verbal communication skills, decision making ability and attention to detail are equally important. The ideal candidate will be highly organized with a process and operational mindset.

 

Primary Duties

 

Privacy Compliance & Operations

 

The Compliance Manager will support the setup and execution of Privacy activities within the Poland Compliance CoE, including:

  • Handling EMEA data privacy incidents and data subject requests;
  • Managing privacy projects, which includes but is not limited to: (a) assessing and closing compliance gaps in countries, (b) complying with new and emerging privacy laws, and (c) the implementation and adoption of privacy technology into Aon’s business units;
  • Working with privacy subject matter experts to continuously improve the privacy risk & control framework;
  • Defining, updating and providing training on privacy policies and controls library;
  • Producing, communicating and advising on privacy policy updates; and
  • Assisting privacy leaders with ad-hoc matters, which might include preparing board reports and metrics.

Other Compliance Duties: Over time, additional compliance duties will be assigned to the Poland Compliance CoE. The Compliance Manager in Poland will assist compliance leadership with prioritizing and on-boarding additional responsibilities into the growing team.

 

Role Expectations

  • Assist with building, training and managing the Poland Compliance CoE
  • Monitor and report on the performance of Aon’s Compliance CoE team on a regular basis, taking appropriate actions to improve effectiveness.
  • Plan and complete work within tight time frames. The ability to reprioritize according to changing needs with minimal oversight is key to meeting this expectation.
  • Demonstrate good judgement with regards to escalating and raising issues
  • Constantly think about and implement process improvements
  • Maintain playbooks, standard operating procedures, document repositories, ensuring timely updates and version control
  • Be an enthusiastic team player, who maintains a positive attitude and who constantly collaborates and builds relationships
  • Maintain a high level of discretion, confidentiality and diplomacy
  • Execute activities across diverse business areas and jurisdictions, each having their own compliance risks and risk appetite
  • Leverage and utilize data, analytics and metrics in the identification, assessment, evaluation, reporting and monitoring of risk
  • Project Management: develop project charters and plans for assigned projects, manage stakeholders, produce communications and status reports, maintain project RAID logs, timelines and, where applicable, manage budgets

Required Experience

  • University degree in business or other related area
  • Management experience, with a proven track record to maintain and develop relationships across a large virtual team
  • Relevant privacy and compliance experience, with project management experience at a large global firm
  • Good working knowledge of the EU GDPR
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to understand and apply learned concepts.
  • Good operational mindset, with experience building and implementing global privacy processes
  • Experience handling incidents and data subject requests
  • Ability to lead and implement projects, especially projects that involve senior stakeholders’ participation
  • Strong track record of running privacy compliance assessments and/or audits
  • Ability to interpret control test results and provide a credible challenge
  • Excellent Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Professional PDF skills
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Fluent English language skills are essential.

Preferred Experience

  • Additional language skills (e.g. Dutch, Spanish, Italian, French) are a bonus
  • Privacy certifications preferred (e.g. IAPP CIPP/E, CIPM, etc)
  • Familiarity with privacy compliance technologies in the market
