We are providing software solutions which handle variety of company processes as well as support professional CAD engineers in construction development tasks. We are looking for Candidates for the position:
Person will be a part of a professional IT team taking care of PERI GmbH corporate database infrastructure as well as local IT infrastructure of TECTOCOM. The position is located in Katowice however specific tasks must be performed in HQ in Germany.

- Identifying database requirements by analyzing applications, evaluating existing systems and designing proposed systems
- Recommending solutions by defining database physical structure and functional capabilities, database security, HA setups, data back-up and recovery specifications
- Operating and monitoring of database server systems
- Installing systems and proposing specifications; recommending optimum access techniques; coordinating installation requirements
- Maintaining database performance by calculating optimum values for database parameters; implementing new releases; completing maintenance requirements
- Supporting database functions by designing and coding utilities
- Maintaining service quality by establishing and enforcing organization standards
- Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices
- Maintaining Windows cluster servers, Hyper-V solution, storage systems
- Monitoring and taking care of internal network solutions
- Maintaining internal software license catalogue
- Solid experience with database administration of MS SQL Server
- Troubleshooting and resolving database problems
- Performance tuning and optimization using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools
- Backups, restores and recovery models
- Setups of High Availability and Disaster Recovery options for MS SQL Server
- Implementing operational automation using scripts
- Knowledge of index management and DB statistics
- Very good English
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Eye for detail and accuracy
- The ability to work quickly, under pressure and to deadlines
- Up-to-date knowledge of technology
- Good communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work well in a fast paced environment, where the technology is constantly changing
- Additional experience with IBM Informix and IBM DB2 will be a plus
- Certification will be a plus (MCTS, MCITP)
- German language will be a plus
