REPORTS TO: Vice President of Technology Europe

 
Job purpose:
  • Responsible for the proactive implementation, development and integration of new cutting-edge technologies and applications in addition to the refinement and modernisation of existing IT services and solutions across Europe.
  • Actively engage and partner with Senior Business leaders and numerous other functions to drive the conceptualisation, transformation, delivery and technical realisation of multiple application solutions creating efficient and innovative platforms for both internal and external customers.
Key responsibilities:
  • Full budgetary and managerial responsibility for Technology Services across Europe
  • Work with the VP of Technology and other IT leaders to develop the overall IT strategy in the context of the business strategy
  • Lead the development of the Technology Services strategy and road map ensuring that it is optimal, given current and emerging digital realities, opportunities and threats.
  • Oversee the assessment of the technical and business fitness of the application portfolio and their associated costs and risks.
  • Develop true partner relationships with business leaders across the organization to influence how applications can enable new sources of value and improve efficiency.
  • Develop and enhance methodologies and practices for the application life cycle management and processes (including those of external service providers) ensuring they are conducted in line with best practices
  • Manage relationships with major vendors and service providers to ensure they cost-effectively meet the needs of the organization.
  • Drive support and management activities in conjunction with infrastructure and operations to ensure the applications perform well in production.
  • Provide leadership for enterprise application development teams, portfolios and methodologies with an emphasis on enabling agility in software creation and optimal user experience.
  • Recruit, manage and develop leadership team to ensure success in all aspects of responsibility.
Skills:
  • 15+ year of proven expertise in software technical design, planning, project management, implementation and support across a variety of enterprise applications solutions
  • Inherent subject matter expertise and background in Application Development with proven experience in delivering digital transformation, service integration, cloud-based services etc.
  • Experience managing hybrid cloud or cloud-centric application environments, specifically in deploying SaaS applications along-side on-premise applications. Experience with migrating applications to cloud infrastructures and/or SaaS providers.
  • Experience architecting, developing and deploying custom software solutions to meet business needs.
  • Proven capability in modernising legacy applications reducing integration barriers and complexity through the delivery of open, adaptable and modular architectures that are optimised around speed, scalability and reliability to facilitate innovation e.g. utilising APIs, micro services, containers etc
  • Proven ability in managing, leading and motivating a matrix-based team of approximately 100 people
  • Demonstrated understanding of and experience with modern software development and quality practices such as
  • Scrum/Agile, DevOps, Test Driven Development (TDD), and Automated Testing Suites to drive efficiency, automation and a high level of quality for software deployment.
  • Demonstrated experience in a leadership role with responsibilities that include on-shoring, near-shoring, offshoring and outsourced IT Services.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both technical and non-technical language to persuade and influence decision making of individuals, groups, or work teams, and to explain difficult issues
  • Demonstrated bias for customer-centric/customer-focused thinking; actively serves as a steward for customers’ needs when designing and implementing technology solutions
  • Ability to connect the people, processes, and technologies required to deliver business solutions
  • Ability to influence decisions with credibility across business functions or technologies with analysis and facts
  • Strong leadership and team building skills with a proven ability to lead teams and drive projects and initiatives by working effectively with others with a demonstrated ability to work cross-departmentally
  • Proven ability to extract, analyse, and document complex business and technical requirements/strategies from business units, customers, and IT team members
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of IT and assigned departments/business areas to identify and communicate how   can support the achievement of short and long-term business goals

HOURS: 37,5 per week
