No coursebooks. Real speaking lessons. Children speak English — not someday. Now.
Effective English is a language school for children and teenagers, built for one reason: children speak English — not someday, now.
We don't teach from coursebooks and we don't teach from behind a desk. Every lesson is built so a child leaves having said something themselves — a full sentence, out loud, on their own — not just having sat through one.
We're not a corporate language school. We're a small, growing team that works together, talks openly about what's working and what isn't, isn't afraid to admit mistakes, and keeps getting better at teaching children.
YOUR ROLE
- Manage your classroom independently and keep it moving and interesting for the students
- Notice who didn't speak, and go back for them before the lesson ends.
- Have materials ready before the first child walks in — no finding things at the last minute, no planning mid-lesson.
- Take ownership of your students' progress and raise problems early, with the person who can act on them — not “nobody told me.”
- Show up on Fridays with something to report — the team meets every week to talk about the students and the lessons: what worked, what didn't, what needs to change.
- A child gives you one word and you hand it straight back as a full sentence for them to say — you don't just accept it and move on.
- You'd teach the same lesson, with the same energy, whether or not anyone's watching.
- Something in your group goes wrong and your first instinct is to deal with it, not wait for instructions.
- You'll say “I don't agree” out loud in a meeting rather than nod along and quietly not do it.
- You care whether a child is bored, not just whether the lesson technically happened.
- You want students to actually speak English — and you notice when they're not.
THIS JOB IS NOT FOR YOU IF
- You want to teach from a coursebook, from behind a desk, or with minimal prep.
- You'd rather wait to be told exactly what to do than figure it out.
- Turning up without your materials ready, or planning on the fly, sounds fine to you.
- You don't genuinely enjoy working with children.
- Speaking over theory. Relationships with students over ticking boxes.
- Feedback is real and it's for your development, not a performance review — you'll know where you stand and what to work on, and you can grow from Junior to Core to Senior to Elite as your teaching does.
- Friday is the centre of how we run: we go through the students together, admit what isn't working, and fix it as a team.
- We don't do corporate nonsense. We care about quality, about the children, and about each other.
We kindly inform we will contact only selected candidates.

Effective English Mira Lasowska
Effective English is a language school for children and teenagers, created out of a need to teach in a different way from the traditional school system.
The school was built on the belief that children learn languages best when:
– they feel safe
– they have a real relationship with their teacher
– they speak and use the language instead of only filling in exercises
– they are treated as people, not as a syllabus to complete
We don’t teach from coursebooks and we don’t teach from behind a desk.
Our lessons are active, based on interaction, and focused on real communication.
We are a team that:
– works together
– talks openly about what works and what doesn’t
– isn’t afraid to admit mistakes
– keeps improving how we teach children
We are not a corporate language school. We are a small, growing school where people and values matter as much as results.
